Sinusitis
Acute sinus infections usually respond to medical treatment. However, when they become recurrent or the patient experiences chronic sinus symptoms such as blocked nose, facial pressure, runny nose or reduced sense of smell it can be quite debilitating.
All of our surgeons have extensive train in in advanced sinus surgery techniques. Dr Theo and Dr Boase have a PhD in sinus surgery and are happy to review patients with complex sinus disease or those requiring revision surgery.
Nasal obstruction and allergic rhinitis
Snoring / Sleep Apnoea
Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis can vary from mildly annoying to severe and potentially life-threatening. Damaged tonsils most commonly result in recurrent throat infections with pain, fever and lethargy.
Removal of the tonsils may be indicated if the tonsillitis is severe and/or recurrent. Our specialists are trained in the use of modern techniques which reduce pain after tonsillectomy.
Neck lumps / Head and neck cancer
Neck lumps are common. There are multiple causes including infection, benign, as well as more sinister causes such as cancer.
Head and neck cancer is becoming more prevalent. Common symptoms include:
- Changes in voice or swallowing
- Pain in the throat which may spread to the ear
- Bringing up blood in the saliva
- Pain or lumps in the head and neck area
- Persistent mouth ulcers that do not heal
- Nose bleeds
- Weakness of the face or facial droop
The surgeons at Adelaide and Hills ENT can provide expert care in the investigation and management of head & neck cancer. We employ minimally invasive techniques including laser and DaVinci robotic surgery.
Swallowing Disorders
In children, some of the most common causes include enlarged adenoids and nasal allergies. Less common causes of nasal blockages are nasal polyps, tumors and congenital malformations of the nose.
Our specialists use nasal endoscopies to carefully assess the nose and tailor treatment to improve breathing and quality of life.
